03. HOW THE PROJECT WORKS
Project Structure
This project is structured in four interconnected phases.
STEP 1. International Environmental Education
Participants receive curated educational materials referencing environmental and circular economy frameworks presented by UK-based foundations and global initiatives.
This project draws upon international discourse including:
- Fashion Revolution (UK-based global campaign)
- Ellen MacArthur Foundation — Circular Economy / Make Fashion Circular
Participants explore:
- The structural system of fast fashion production
- Microfiber pollution and textile waste
- Global consumer systems
- Core principles of the circular economy
Through this research-based phase, participants prepare their work not as simple production, but as responses grounded in critical understanding.
STEP 2. Goods Creation and Practical Response
Participants create small-scale goods using discarded textiles and fabric remnants.
These goods are designed to reflect on and question the structure of fast fashion.
The production process includes:
- Material sourcing
- Concept development
- Fabrication
- Message construction
Completed goods are presented and sold during the London public campaign.
All proceeds from goods sales are fully donated to an environmental organisation.
STEP 3. London Public Campaign
The campaign takes place within a flea market space in London, UK.
This setting represents a real ecosystem of resale and material circulation — a living counterpoint to the linear fast fashion system.
On-site activities include:
- Distribution of campaign leaflets
- Public dialogue on fast fashion
- Exhibition and sale of participant-created goods
- Interviews and campaign documentation
The project directly intervenes within active consumer environments.
STEP 4. Structured Donation
Each participant contributes £100 (approximately equivalent to 200,000 KRW), which is included in the project cost.
This amount is donated to a UK-based environmental organisation.
All proceeds from goods sales are added in full to the total donation.
Upon completion of the project, participants receive:
- Official donation confirmation
- Project participation certificate
- Campaign documentation materials
- Public web archive publication
Artistic participation becomes tangible environmental action.
