01. Project Overview

About the Initiative

RETHINK FAST FASHION 2026 is an international participatory project that interprets the environmental destruction, overconsumption systems, and hidden labor structures created by fast fashion through artistic language — and connects them to public campaigning and structured environmental contribution.

This project operates within the framework of YPCI (Youth Participatory Campaign Initiative).

From March to June 2026, the project will be carried out in London, UK.

It explores how art can critically engage with social issues and how creative practice can be translated into tangible public action.

The structure follows a clear and intentional progression:

Research → Creation → Public Intervention → Donation → Documentation

Participants are not passive contributors.
They engage as critical thinkers and active agents — examining the issue, developing informed perspectives, intervening in public space, and contributing to measurable environmental action.

02. WHY FAST FASHION?

The Issue We Recognize

Fast fashion operates on a linear system:

This structure:

  • Accelerates overproduction
  • Normalizes disposability
  • Increases textile waste and microfiber pollution

RETHINK FAST FASHION 2026 critically examines this system and seeks to practice an alternative model — Circulation.

Rather than accepting disposal as the final stage of consumption, the project encourages a shift toward responsibility, reuse, and systemic change.

03. HOW THE PROJECT WORKS

Project Structure

This project is structured in four interconnected phases.
